For the last several years, we have had amazing dedicated Board Members who volunteer their time to keep this association going. This year has had some hurdles with man-power and we are very behind in planning for convention.
We need your assistance in any way you can help. Providing ideas, any community connections, helping to plan or any other way you can think of assisting.
A survey has been sent out to all members for potential topics and requesting volunteers. Please complete as this information is very important to move forward. Without your help, there may be no convention this year.
We have several exciting events coming up so keep checking back for updates!

The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of Hawaii is pleased to announce a continuing education event that includes topics of interest to speech pathologists, audiologists, and persons involved in pediatric hearing screening. Current Topics in Audiology and Speech Pathology will take place January 30, 2025 on the campus of the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine.
The conference will consist of a morning session (3.0 CE hours) focusing on early identification of hearing loss in infants, preschool, and school age children. Attendees will benefit from a practical review of evidence-based techniques and strategies for hearing screening, plus hands-on demonstrations. The afternoon session (3.5 CE hours) begins with a 1-hour lecture on ethics in audiology and speech pathology followed by a clinically relevant review of procedures and protocols for identification, assessment, and management of auditory processing disorders (APD) in children and adults.
The deadline for registration is January 23, 2025. Seats are limited. Attendees will receive a certificate confirming completion of this CE activity (morning, afternoon, or all day). For more information, contact Keith Yamase via email at keithy@hawaii.edu or telephone at 808-692-1583.
