I am honored to return to the President’s position in this amazing association with its dedicated board members and all our new volunteers! We recently completed our latest strategic planning meeting setting up goals for the next 3 years and I couldn’t be more excited!
Since I became active with HSHA, we have passed legislation for a provisional license that is now in full effect! We survived a pandemic holding our first virtual convention and even advanced to a more interactive platform this past convention. Although professional burnout is a real thing, our devoted board members continued to work on projects and events to bring to our members.
After a short period of recuperation, we have met and created a new plan to make the association even better! From providing more CEUs, webinars and live events, to improved IT and information updates, we are diligently working to bring more to our members and more importantly, engaging and informing our members. We will be working with the University of Hawaii graduate program to introduce, mentor and engage our soon to be colleagues and working on our CF Kokua mentorship program.
We are excited to bring a new and better association to you, but please remember, we are a volunteer non-profit organization and we can only be as good as our members help us to be! So if you have any interests in assisting with individual events please contact us. If you do not want to help plan, please be sure to share, like and comment on our social media posts and get your colleagues involved to attend and share our events. Together, we can improve quality of services, education and community through the Hawaii Speech-Language-Hearing Association!
